So during the met I was asking Orge44 about Uncharted Seas by Spartan games. He tells me the group used to play it but everyone stopped at the same time.
A friend just got me into it. He has been providing my wife and I with the figures so we don't own any yet.
Why the sudden stop of the game? Any chance to play it again? Should I notify next time we are planning to play at my house?
And finally If everyone stopped, is anyone selling their figures, rules and accessories?

For me it was the typical Spartan game issues, not thought out balance, and it felt like we were playing beta rules of the game. Spartan then rereleased the rules with all the fixes but by then we had moved on.
I still have my Dragon Lords fleet, and I know Kiley has his human fleet we both would be up for a game but dont have the latest rules revisions

Friend that got me into UcS has the newest rule book. Other than a few rules we had wrong, and some clarification rules, doesn't look too different.
So maybe a game in the near future is in order?

Im somewhat interested in Uncharted Seas. Ive looked at it a couple times, but never quite bit. About how many models in an average force? Ballpark buy-in price for that average force? Who plays it at MAOW? Anyone willing to demo?

The buddy who got me into it has been providing us with the forces. He never played 1st Edition so he's not sure what has changed but he is willing to teach the game. One of the starter sets gets you about 500 pt force.

You can find fully painted sets on Ebay for a little bit more than a unpainted set these days

I played it about 1 or 2 times, then finally got my entire Human Empire fleet completed and then everyone lost interest in the game.

sounds like there is some interest in playing. Just no interest in buying the new rules.... If I can get my buddy to come along on the 17th I'll add that to the Nov Meetting thread.

I don't think any of us have the current cards either

not sure if the cards are different. We've played a half dozen times and only have used the cards the last time we played. Aren't they optional? I know they speed up the game.

Jacob and i both managed to get into this game just in time for everyone in the to move onto a new game. I like the mechanics, but must say it was like playing a beta-game.
