The Apocalypse rulebook is due out in mid July.
For those of you newer to 40k, Apocalypse basically uses the rules for 40k, and turns the rediculous factor up to 11. Most of the army restrictions (like the force org chart) are thrown out, and the attitude is very much "bring whatever you want, or have." The tables are dominated by tanks, superheavy tanks, and titans, with infantry's life expectancy very short. The table itself is oversized to accomodate the game as well. The point isnt really to thrash your opponent, but to play a big game with all your toys.
I plan on getting the suppliment. In 4th, I played a lot of Apoc. (Like twice a month) it was an excellent springboard for multiplayer games, which is easier now, with ally rules in the core book. We did it once in MAOW. If you are newer to the game, you may not want to get the book, you probably wont use it much.
Ok, so here is the point of the ramble. Is there any interest in playing an apocalypse style game at the August meet? I would be happy to organize it if there is enough interest. Thats August 17, and the August meet often conflicts with gen-con.
Post your thoughts below.
