Another week and more progress. Not sure if I will beat the mantic box to my house, but I will give it a shot! Death from above! 20 more bowmen finished this week, and 4 bolt throwers. Gotta keep the enemy at arms length when you are a squishy elf. That makes only 40 more elves left to do. 104 painted this summer, not too shabby I guess, and still 3 weeks before school starts. State of the army as of today.

Thanks, it is difficult to stay focused with all the shinies at the house.

Another couple weeks, and another couple units done. 40 more spear elves. I also added the snow to the basing, and started doing the edges of the movement trays to match the army. Still no committment to a design for the shield. 152 models painted this summer. Not bad. 80 spear elves 40 bow elves 20 scouts 4 bolt thrower warmachines. (3 models each) Only 2 metal princes left from the original set that Mantic sent me. I should have a nice clean slate for the kickstarter miniatures I am going to get, that will round out the army with some cavalry, and elite troops. Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. Had a couple hours free today and managed to knick out the two princes. One (or both) may end up being army banners depending on playing the game more. I have only played the elves twice. I like the blue cape better in the close shot, but the grey one looks better from tabletop distance.

My vote is on the blue cape.
Great job, looks great.

Looking good! I also prefer the blue cape to the grey, although the two colors probably makes telling them apart on the table a little easier.

Other than shield design and basing, the drakons are done. I wont say it is my best work, the project was really eating time and I got lazy toward the end. The do look good on the table from 3 feet away, which is what I am going for. The arms "make" the model. This is the drakon's place in the army overall. The next project in line is 50 palace guard. I should get this done before the holiday. After the guard, 40 ish stormwind, a hero drakon, a dragon, and a mage. And I am done!

Thanks Rob! Pretty good in game too. Took a break from painting my elves for a side project. A buddy of mine is sort of running a hybrid rpg/ warhammer 40k campaign. Think old school rogue trader and you get the idea. Anyways, I have to paint up a squad of 10 guys fir the game. For years I have wanted to do my own space marine chapter based on the Blood Angels codex. Now, with the allied rules, I have no reason not to. I present the Hornets of Vespa. (I wont bore you with the fluff) Still a little rough, but they are turning out well, and the speed is improving. i have a week to complete he other 5. Still not sure what I am going to do with the chapter badge yet. My freehand is suspicious at best, and anything too complicated, I am going to regret over dozens of models.

You know, I have some of that kicking around somewhere.
I have no programs or skills in the graphic arts. Does anyone have a suggestion for freeware that I could play with to make my designs?
